Diesel Emissions - ServicesMaintaining Your CARB compliance depends on service and support! In addition to achieving your diesel engine "Emission Compliance with Confidence", Ironman provides services to support you for the long-term. Here are the full emissions support services we offer: Fleet/Equipment Assessments Our diesel emission assessment team will come to your location(s) to assess each diesel engine's exhaust system and compile your comprehensive compliance plan. Then, an emission consultant will give your organization a professional presentation demonstrating the results of the equipment assessment and provide in-depth CARB regulation and compliance recommendations. We will partner with all levels of your organization from top executives to equipment managers to educate and advise each person in their role in ensuring the company's overall CARB compliance success through best available technology, diesel particulate filter maintenance, and proper reporting to the California Air Resources Board. Data Logging (Diesel Exhaust Temperature Testing) The California Air Resources Board requires that the best available technology Level 3 technology is applied appropriately to each diesel engine. Two vehicles with the same engine make and engine year may expel different levels of diesel exhaust emissions in the field based on temperatures, working conditions, and engine maintenance levels, etc. CARB has established data logging as a required method to determine that diesel engine emissions are accurately measured during 3 days of normal use to determine the best available control technology (BACT). Below are the two steps for this testing:

Diesel Retrofit Unit Installation Diesel emission retrofit units are a significant financial investment and the installation needs to be performed by highly trained and certified technicians. With Ironman, you can trust our years of experience, thousands of diesel retrofit units installed, and testimonials from our satisfied clients. Diesel Particulate Filter - "Substrate" Cleaning (Deashing) Level 3 diesel particulate filters provide 85% + diesel emissions reduction--currently the highest level of reduction possible. The internal substrates need to be professionally deashed on a regular basis* to maintain optimal performance, protect the device's warranty, and to maintain California Air Resources Board compliance. CARB requires written proof and maintenance records of your diesel particulate filter cleanings, which Ironman will provide for you. During the deashing process, heat and pressure are used to burn off and remove any harmful baked-on diesel soot and particulate matter to reopen the small air passages in the diesel particulate filter. The diesel soot and particulate matter that is removed during the cleaning process is highly toxic and is classified as HAZMAT (hazardous material). During the diesel particulate filter deashing, we capture the hazardous material, remove it from your site, and later dispose of it properly in accordance with California law. * Cleaning and maintenance intervals are determined by engine maintenance, working conditions, and hours of use. Backpressure Monitoring/Red Light Service During the operation of your diesel retrofit unit, there may be instances that cause a warning light to appear. This means that the device is experiencing higher backpressure than normal. There are many possible causes for this which includes a clogged substrate and engine maintenance issues which will require review by the vehicle maintenance department. The warning light system exists to warn of potential minor problems before they become major. Ignoring the warning light may result in a ruined diesel retrofit unit, or worse, total engine failure. Ironman offers Mobile Emission Services to quickly address these problems in the field with a computerized assessment and correction of the problem.
